RACE 1: BRISBANE BLOODSTOCK FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M.

Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer T Sears why the rider for SILVER SUNDAY was not declared by the required time.

JUST BE QUOZ was very slowly away.

SILVER SUNDAY was slowly away.

On the point of the home turn CATCHING DREAMS and CRYSTAL QUEEN were forced wider on the track by SECRETIVE ROSE, which shifted out to obtain clear running.

Near the 50m SILVER SUNDAY, which shifted out made contact with CATCHING DREAMS.

Time off 3.57 PM.

RACE 2: FITTON INSURANCE ENTIRES & GELDINGS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M.

Apprentice Z Landry made an application to Stewards to be paid a winning or losing ride as she had been engaged to ride OLIVERS UP and was subsequently replaced by S Shield. After hearing evidence from Trainer M Webb master of the Apprentice, Trainer G Patterson and Z Landry, Stewards advised Mr Patterson that a riding fee would have to be paid to the Apprentice.

Trainer T Sears advised Stewards that he intended to instruct N Tomizawa to attempt to ride PEDRO’S MIGHTY off the pace, as at his previous start the gelding went to hard when in front.

GREENBACK, PRINCE PERCY and TURNIP were slowly away.

Near the 950m PRINCE PERCY was reluctant to hold its position when racing in restricted room to the inside of GREENBACK.

Near the 250m PRINCE PERCY shifted out and brushed GREENBACK.

PRINCE PERCY laid in once placed under pressure in the home straight.

Near the 100m CANONS FIRE was cramped for room between PRINCE PERCY, which shifted in and CHOIKOV, which shifted out.

STORM CITY shifted out once placed under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 3: FITTON INSURANCE HOPEFUL PLATE QTIS 2-Y-O – 1000M

FOOLISH had to be resaddled behind the barrier.

Stewards placed a warning on FOOLISH, which was difficult to load.

STREET SMART was slowly away.

CIRCLE THE WORLD jumped in making heavy contact with the gate.

ERNST AUGUST jumped in coming into contact with SQUEEZE ME IN.

Shortly after the start SQUEEZE ME IN, ERNST AUGUST, GRANDMA TINY, FEAR OF FLYING and CIRCLE THE WORLD all lost ground when tightened for room between STIRLING, which shifted out and HAIGHT ASHBURY, which shifted in.

Shortly after the start EXAMINER lost ground when tightened for room between INNOCENT BY BIRTH, which shifted out and SEQUALIZER, which shifted in.

Near the 550m HOTSHOT HAYIL, which shifted in, made heavy contact with the running rail.
ERNST AUGUST was forced wider on the track by FEAR OF FLYING, which shifted out rounding the home turn.

Near the 250m HAIGHT ASHBURY, which was hanging in, shifted in coming into heavy contact with ROSIMIA, which then made heavy contact with the running rail.

Time off 5.20 PM.

RACE 4: QRSE RAY WHITE TOOWOOMBA CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1300M.

BIG CAT NAP jumped out as the gates opened.

PUBLIC EYE lost ground when jumping away awkwardly.

COURTLY TRUMP was slowly away.

Time off 5.55 PM.

RACE 5: DARLING DOWNS H'CAP – 1200M.

GILLIES STREET was slowly away.

Near the 850m CEFFYL was eased from the heels of JUST AWE, which was eased from the heels of MR CHEVY (E. Dredge), which shifted in. E. Dredge was advised of her obligations when her mount is shifting ground.

Time off 6.30 PM.

RACE 6: MITAVITE QTIS 3-Y-O MAIDEN H'CAP –1300M.

S Shield (LION’S IMAGE) who was hit in the face by the head of his mount was subsequently cleared by the Ambulance officer to fulfil his engagement.

MAD MOUSE was very slowly away.

Stewards placed a warning on STOMPEY SEPOY, which jumped out dramatically as the gates opened.

LUKE TOMAHAWK was slowly away.

Near the 850m MIDNIGHT JACK was eased from the heels of THAT’S HIM, which was taken in by MR ALBERT, which was racing greenly. LION’S IMAGE, which was following was eased from the heels of MIDNIGHT JACK.

STOMEY SEPOY raced wide throughout.

Time off 7.05 PM.

RACE 7: QRSE CRAFTSMAN HOMES CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1300M.

K. Yoshida (NIX’N’ KNOTS) replaced B. Appo who was stood down on medical advice after riding in race 3.

HOBEAU was slowly away.

Near the 850m MISTER KOSTYA and BRASS CUTTER lost ground when tightened for room by QUEEN CALLOW (R Plumb), which shifted in. Stewards reprimanded R Plumb for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Stewards took into account the inexperience of R Plumb when considering the penalty.

Approaching the 100m CASH ALL OVER was eased when tightened for room between HIWATERS, which shifted out and QUEEN CALLOW, which shifted in.

Approaching the 100m THE PROMS was steadied when taken in by BRASS CUTTER.

Near the 100m NIX ‘N’ KNOTS was eased when tightened for room by HOBEAU (S Apthorpe), which shifted in. S Apthorpe was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear.

Jockey G Geran was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that near the 250m he permitted his mount THE PROMS to shift out when insufficiently clear of ABAGNALE, resulting in ABAGNALE being checked. G Geran was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 meetings as of mid – night 25-09-04 and to expire at mid – night 6-10-04.

Time off 7.42 PM.

RACE 8: CLIVE BERGHOFER GROUP CLASS 2 H'CAP –1600M.

C. Spry (LATE WARRIOR) replaced B. Appo.

G. Geran (TOOLBOX) replaced K. Yoshida who was dislodged from NIX ‘N’ KNOTS at the pull up of race 7.

CARINA DONNA jumped in coming into contact with NORTHERN HEIGHTS.

Approaching the 1500m TOOLBOX was crowded for room between CARINA DONNA and MR INSURANCE.

TANAH MERAH blundered making the 1500m crossing.

Near the 1200m SAVAGE GARDEN, which was pulling hard, clipped the heels of LATE WARRIOR and blundered.

Near the 550m FIL THE BILL shifted in and made contact with SWEET TOUR.

Leaving the 400m TANAH MERAH was steadied when crowded for room between LATE WARRIOR and CARINA DONNA, which shifted in.

Time off 8.20 PM.

ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.

25-09-04: Trainer S McCarthy advised Stewards that UNIQUE ASCOT had been galloped on the off hind leg during the running of the Maiden Handicap at the Toowoomba meeting on 24-09-04.
