SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Race 6 Toowoomba 20/10/12

Following the disappointing performance of TOMCAT, trainer M. Webb reported that after the race the horse was found to be suffering from a virus which had affected some horses in his stable. Mr. Webb advised that TOMCAT has now been sent for a spell.

General:

Apprentice R. Hurdle was fined $100 for failing to produce a letter of authority.

Race 1: Extend Oshc Class 2 H'cap - 1050m
1st – TEAANA LASS 2nd – DIAMOND HEIST 3rd – ON ICE NOW 4th – DREAM BELLA

Track temperature: 21 degrees Celsius

As no rider was available MEDIEVAL MYTH was a late scratching at 9:55am.

DREAM BELLA proved difficult to loading. Trainer M. Nolan was notified that a warning will be placed against the mare.

DIAMOND HEIST over raced during the early stages.

Leaving the 900m DREAM BELLA (S. Bogenhuber) shifted out making contact with CAPTAIN FUN's shoulder, obliging it to race one horse wider. Jockey S. Bogenhuber was reprimanded.

DREAM BELLA hung out from the 600m until straightening.

Race 2: HMH Plumbing and Gass Class 1 Handicap 1300m
1st – AI JO 2nd – DHACOURT 3rd – ZERO LIMIT 4th – ROCKING PEARL

Track temperature: 20 degrees Celsius

As no other rider was available, permission was given for apprentice J. King to replace L. Cheshire on LET ME ROCK.

Trainer Ann-Maree Jeynes (ROCKING PEARL) was fined $100 for failing to notify a change of gear by the prescribed time.

LET ME ROCK (M. Abe) and MONDE BIJOU (D. Robinson) were slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn at the 1200m ZAHAVAH (A. Best) and ZERO LIMIT S. Bogenhuber) were crowded between LET ME ROCK and RUBI OF THE DESERT (R. Goltz) which was taken out by FORTUITOUS BLADE (M.Abe).

During the middle stages ZERO LIMIT raced keenly with its head up.

S. Drake (ROCKING PEARL) lost her whip at 400m.

ZERO LIMIT hung in down the straight.

Race 3: Darren Lange Swimming Academy QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate - 1000m
1st – TODLINE 2nd – CAPTAIN SPUR 3rd – COCK A HOOP 4th – IF HE DON'T

Track temperature: 20 degrees Celsius

COCK A HOOP (R. Hurdle) was fractious in the barriers, when the start was effected, it bounded and blundered.

Shortly after the start IF HE DON'T (J. Letherby) was crowded for room between BUSKER BLUES (S. Bogenhuber) and RUSTIC PLAY (S. Drake) which shifted out.

Near the 200m IF HE DON'T and PRINCESS CINDERS (K. Yoshida) were crowded for room when improving into a narrow run between LAKE VERMONT (L. Morrison) and RUSTIC PLAY.

A. Best, rider of TODLINE, was reprimanded for use of the whip for more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

J. Letherby, rider of IF HE DON’T, was reprimanded for presenting in incorrect colours.


Race 4:Wood Furniture Maiden H'cap - 1200m
1st – YOGO BEAR 2nd – RHIATENN ROAD 3rd – NOVA ROCKS 4th – GYPSY JAZZ

Track temperature: 18 degrees Celsius

MASSIE BELLE (D. Robinson) was slow to begin.

Near the 100m BILODEAU (K. Yoshida) had to steady off the heels of NOVA ROCKS (L. Morrison) which shifted in when barely clear.

Near the 500m NOVA ROCKS and RED HORNET (J. Letherby) were crowded between ARE TEE ESS (R. Goltz) and JUST A ROCKSTAR (S. Bogenhuber) which was hanging out. NOVA ROCKS had to steady and shift back in.

Rounding the turn, NOVA ROCKS hung in and then on straightening became badly unbalanced.


Race 5: Holy Nane Primary School Class 4 H'cap - 1200m
1st – WINDEL TORI 2nd – COZ HE WANTS TO 3rd – DOUG'S JET 4th - SEZWHO

Track temperature: 17 degrees Celsius

WINDEL TORI (N. Nishio) began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.

Race 6: Taddio Group P/L Benchmark 80 H'cap - 1625m
1st – GRIFFITH LAD 2nd – BLOW A KISS 3rd – THE CLANDY MAN CAN 4th – VIVAHEART

Track temperature: 16 degrees Celsius

BLOW A KISS proved very difficult to load. After being boxed, BLOW A KISS became fractious, reared and dislodged its rider D. Robinson, who was unhurt. BLOW A KISS was removed from its gate, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race. As a result, the start of this race of this was delayed considerably. Trainer M. Nolan was advised that a warning would be placed against the barrier manners of BLOW A KISS.

In the straight, D. Robinson, rider of BLOW A KISS, dropped his off side rein.


Race 7: E & E Waste Management Pty Ltd Maiden Plate 2000m
1st – EPISODE STAR 2nd – SUNDAE DREAMIN’ 3rd – NO HOOPS 4th – MISTY CHARM

Track temperature: 14 degrees Celsius

Due to a misunderstanding N. Nishio was inadvertently declared for OZICROWN when that rider had already been engaged for RELLE’S TAG. R. Hurdle was substituted as the rider of OZICROWN.

The start of this race was delayed when OZICROWN (R. Hurdle) and EPISODE STAR
(R. Goltz) dislodged their riders en route to the gates. Both OZICROWN and EPISODE START was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race.

Making the first turn, NO HOOPS (D. Robinson) began to race very greenly and hung out badly and got its head up and shifted towards the middle of the track for some distance before its rider regained control.

Jockey K. Yoshida, rider of SUNDAE DREAMIN’, was charged with careless riding in that near the 1000m he shifted in when insufficiently clear of MISTY CHARM (S. Bogenhuber), resulting in that horse striking the running rail, clipping the heels of SUNDAE DREAMIN’ and being severely checked. When assessing penalty, stewards took into account that jockey Yoshida had only recently resumed from a careless riding suspension, and were also mindful of the degree of carelessness and subsequent interference that occurred on this occasion. K. Yoshida’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 8 meetings, to commence at midnight, 27 October and to expire at midnight 9 November 2012.
