WARRA RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT SAT. 30.11.02

STEWARDS PANEL: J Williamson (Chairman), J Gleeson, T Harding, P Booshand (Cadet)

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – DIRT RAIL – TRUE

RACE 1: LAVERTY ROCHE & KELLY MAIDEN H'CAP – 825m

Correct weight was delayed do to the incorrect number being semaphored for fourth, the correct horse was weighed in for fourth however and correct weight was given.

SPICY SLAVE was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start EAGLE SCOUT shifted in hampering ALWAYS OSCAR and ROLL ON RASY.

Leaving the 400m, I’M SINGLE lost ground after shifting out and making contact with ROLL ON RASY.

Over the concluding stages SO IT IS was placed in restricted room between EAGLE SCOUT and MIDNIGHT JEWEL, which shifted in. D Hutchins the rider of MIDNIGHT JEWEL was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.


RACE 2: DALBY INSURANCE BROKERS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 825m

NOBLE JACKPOT reared as the start was affected losing considerable ground.

BELLE SHY was slow to begin.

Approaching the 200m, NOBLE JACKPOT shifted out making contact with LITTLE GIANT.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of LITTLE GIANT, Trainer/Jockey P Clarke agreed that he was also disappointed with today’s performance and could offer no explanation for the horse losing ground in the middle stages of the event other than to say that the step back in distance of today’s event may have contributed. He further stated that he had planned to start the horse next week at Texas and if a similar performance is displayed at the horse would be spelled.

RACE 3: FITZSIMMONS REAL ESTATE CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1200m

ROCKET BE GOOD shifted in shortly after the start hampering both AFFAIR TIME and BLAZEON.

RACE 4: KEATINGS PRODUCE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m

Prior to correct weight being given a protest was lodged by Y Yamazaki the rider of the third placegetter CHATA WALK against the winner CALIFORNIA JACK alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from both riders and viewing the stewards patrol film, stewards dismissed the objection on the grounds that the margin lost was not sufficient to overturn the winning margin.

At a subsequent inquiry Jockey J Baker rider of CALIFORNIA JACK was advised to exercise more care in future after it was found that his mount shifted out abruptly over the concluding stages causing CHATA WALK to be checked and lose ground.

ASHKONI and GUBBINGAR came together on jumping forcing GUBBINGAR in onto DINAH MOE HUMM. Whilst AKTHAR shifted out forcing BOORINGA LAD out onto DINAH MOE HUMM as a result DINAH MOE HUMM was tightened for room and forced to check severely.

Leaving the 1100m, CHATA WALK dipped, shifted in and hampered SECRET GARDENS, which was forced to check.

KINGSTON’S IMAGE, which ran off the track leaving the 1000m, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a jump out prior to next start.


RACE 5: LAVERTY ROCHE & KELLY OPEN H'CAP – 1200m

UNCANNY was declared a late scratching on vets advise at 3:50pm when that gelding became cast on the back gate of the barrier stalls. Upon the declaration of correct weight deductions of 8c win and 9c place were ordered.

A warning was placed on FYWICK STORY, which proved difficult to load.

MAKE NO MISTAKE was tightened for room at the start between KIDBURG, which shifted in, and YALLAH VISTA, which shifted out.

EVALTER suffered a bleeding attack during running and will be barred from racing for a mandatory 3 month period.


RACE 6: GRANT DANIEL & LONG PTY LTD CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1400m

MUSICAL SPIN, OUR PROUD TIGER, COVNEY and NDAU were all slow to begin.

BAT AN EYE was forced to ease leaving the 1200m when BOLD TYCOON shifted in.

HIGH REWARDS began to loose ground from the 1000m onwards after being tightened for room by BOLD TYCOON.

S Gaffaney the rider of BOLD TYCOON was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in down the length of the straight resulting in THE FONZ being hampered.

Apprentice Y Yamazaki was dislodge from his mount THE FONZ a short distance after the post when that gelding clipped heels and blundered no rider fault was attributed to this incident.




ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
