SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
P Cuddihy, P Randall and J Warrington who were indisposed were replaced as per summary sheet.
16-10-06: Trainer P Nolan reported LOUGHNAN pulled up very lame on the near fore after the running of the Warwick Cup. Stewards advised Mr Nolan a veterinary clearance is required for LOUGHNAN prior to its next start.
17-10-06: Stewards inquired into the reason TOUCAN DANCE was checked and lost ground approaching the 800m during the running of race 1 the Maiden Handicap at the Warwick meeting on 14-10-06. After taking evidence from riders P Wolfgram (TOUCAN DANCE) and M Tarrant (SOMELASS) it was established approaching the 800m SOMELASS, which was racing greenly shifted in momentarily crowding the running of TOUCAN DANCE, which got its head up and hung out onto the heels of SOMELASS whilst being eased, resulting in TOUCAN DANCE losing ground. Stewards took no action against M Tarrant as they were of the opinion SOMELASS contributed to the incident by racing greenly and TOUCAN DANCE also contributed by getting its head up and hanging out whilst being eased.
17-10-06: Stewards inquired into the reason TOUCAN DANCE was checked and lost ground near the 250m during the running of race 1 the Maiden Handicap at the Warwick meeting on 14-10-06. After taking evidence from riders P Wolfgram (TOUCAN DANCE) and A Taylor (KIM’S HONEY) and viewing of the patrol film it was established TOUCAN DANCE was checked severely from the heels of KIM’S HONEY when both shifted in. Stewards were of the opinion TOUCAN DANCE had not obtained a run to the inside of KIM’S HONEY prior to it shifting ground.
17-10-06: P Wolfgram was fined the sum of $50 for failing to obtain permission from stewards to leave the course after completing his engagements at the Warwick meeting on the 14-10-06.

RED GEM (A Merritt), which was very fractious in the barriers sat down on its hindquarters. RED GEM was subsequently passed by the starter to start. Trainer L Bryant was advised a further barrier certificate is required for RED GEM prior to its next start. A Merritt reported he bruised his left hip when his mount got down in the barriers.

Trainer J Crompton was advised a warning was being placed on GEMSTONE PEAK for its pre-race behaviour.

Shortly after the start ROMAN ACE attempted to buck and raced wide from the 800m whilst hanging out. Trainer’s representative was advised ROMAN ACE is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

AS P Wolfgram had left the course, stewards will inquire at a later date into the reason TOUCAN DANCE was checked and lost ground near the 800m and the 250m. P Wolfgram will be interviewed into the reason he left the course before obtaining permission to do so.

On returning to scale C Rogers the rider of the 4th placegetter FLYING KWILA lodged an objection against LOUGHNAN (G Lynch) being declared 3rd for alleged interference approaching the 50m. After hearing evidence from riders, connections and viewing of the patrol film stewards dismissed the protest as stewards believed the amount of ground lost in the incident by FLYING KWILA did not warrant the protest being upheld.
