RED SUIT (S. Bayliss) was fractious in the barriers.
GRANDEUR KING (L. Dillon) was slow to begin.
Near the 600m, RED SUIT had to be steadied off the heels of SPARTANEOUS (J. Kropp), and shifted out making contact with DOUBLE TOP (I. Coombes). RED SUIT again had to steadied off the heels of SPARTANEOUS near the 400m.
J. Kropp reported that SPARTANEOUS hung out from the 600m until the 300m.
MAGIC TURBO (D. Gill) and DOUBLE TOP raced wide throughout.
Race 2: St Joseph’s P&F Class 3 Plate 1000m
1st: Morgan Miss 2nd: Stock Market 3rd: Craiglea Mustang 4th: Embellishing
ITCHY TIGER (J. Kropp) and CRAIGLEA MUSTANG (D. Gill) bumped on jumping away.
Near the 600m, EMBELLISHING (S. Bayliss) had to be checked from the heels of STOCK MARKET (B. Newport) which shifted out when making the turn awkwardly. Stewards, whilst mindful of the racing manners of STOCK MARKET, advised B. Newport to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
MORGAN MISS (I. Coombes) raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Stanwell Tarong Power Stations – Healthy Communities QYIS Maiden Plate (2) 1000m
1st: Our Boy Bill 2nd: Ahsoka Tano 3rd: Airgead 4th: Suime Rose
Correct weight was delayed to allow N. Evans, the rider of AHSOKA TANO to view the photo finish print. After viewing the print, N. Evans was satisfied with the Judge's placings and correct weight was declared on the Judge's semaphored numbers.
OUR BOY BILL (D. Gill) jumped away awkwardly.
JULIE'S ROCKET (B. Derbyshire) and SEA STRAIT (J. Kropp) were tightened on jumping away between RUBYRICHBOY (R. Hancock) and AHSOKA TANO (N. Evans) which shifted in.
JULIE'S ROCKET overraced in the middle stages and near the 800m became unbalanced when awkwardly placed at the heels of AHSOKA TANO.
OUR BOY BILL was inclined to lay out under pressure in the early part of the straight, and then shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
HOODED DESTINY (S. Bayliss) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
CRAIGLEA TOPS (L. Dillion), SUIME ROSE (I. Coombes) and HOODED DESTINY raced wide throughout.
Race 5: Terry Brown Happy 60th Class B Handicap 1100m
1st: Spiritofthedragon 2nd: Atlanta Queen 3rd: Shiner 4th: Sugar Diamond
As J. Kropp was dually engaged, L. Tarrant was substituted as the rider of ATLANTA QUEEN.
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to determine whether BOTH EARS (J. Kropp) had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from J. Kropp and viewing the race footage, it was established that BOTH EARS reared as the start was effected, dislodging J. Kropp, and remained in the barriers. Stewards declared BOTH EARS a runner, and correct weight was declared on the Judge's semaphored numbers. Trainer G. Teal was advised that BOTH EARS must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to it's next race start.
REMY MARTINI (L. Appo) and ATLANTA QUEEN (L. Tarrant) were both slow to begin.
SUGAR DIAMOND (L. Dillon) was tightened for room leaving the 1000m between MORE THAN CURLY (D. Gill) and SHINER (B. Newport), which shifted out despite the efforts of it's rider.
ATLANTA QUEEN was held up for clear running from the 150m until leaving the 50m.
GOLD RECORD (I. Coombes) and MORE THAN CURLY raced wide throughout.
Stewards sought and explanation from R. Hancock regarding WITH FRIENDS, which performed below market expectations. He stated that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure from the 400m was reluctant to stretch out due to the kick back from today's racing surface. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
L. Appo reported that after being slow to begin REMY MARTINI never travelled comfortably due to the kick back from today's racing surface.
SHINER (B. Newport) lost it's near hind plate in running.
